The American Folk Song with Mark Dvorak
Join the Rhinelander District Library in welcoming folk singer Mark Dvorak on Wednesday, July 15th, 5-6 p.m. in the library meeting room.
The Chicago Tribune has called Mark Dvorak “masterful,” and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as “a living archive of song and style.” In 2012, WFMT 98.7 Classical & Folk Radio named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.”
Dvorak accompanies himself on guitar and 5-string banjo and performs folk classics like “This Land Is Your Land” and “Kisses Sweeter Than Wine.” He mixes in standards from the American Songbook like “Someone to Watch Over Me” and “It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie” and features his poignant and well-crafted original songs. His program also includes stories about growing up in the Chicago area, songs he remembers from his grandparents, and songs he learned while he was a student at the Old Town School of Folk Music.
His show is funny, passionate, intimate and unforgettable. All are welcome!
